Dunkin’ Bears

Today I just started a new line of wax dipped stuffies for our booth. My children think I’m killing the teddy bears over here. One of my daughters crocheted the scarf for this one (as she works to complete her own line of infinity scarves). I’m excited about these bears. They’re so cute and they smell sooo good! Here’s one I just did. I’ve named her Miss Smelly Buns.

Miss Smelly Buns

Wax Dipped Teddy Bear in Cinnamon Bun Scent

What do you think? I’ve grunged her up in cinnamon and scented her in cinnamon bun fragrance. The cinnamon bun she’s carrying is hand sewn, completely removeable and also scented in cinnamon bun. I’m doing about 15 of these and listing them in the store, each will have its own character. I’ve even sewn clothes for them! This is so much fun I think I’m addicted to teddy bear dunking!

Well please do let me know what you think of her. I’d like to get your feedback before I send her off in her proper packaging. Happy Hump Day!

When You Can’t Do Everything

I’ve been mixing away Christmas candles for an upcoming Christmas Open House an a local antique mall where we’ve been renting a booth. I wanted to have a ice snow theme with the pale blues, silver and creams but the theme isn’t really working in the scope of what I’m creating to place on the booth. So, of course, I’m changing the theme altogether. Needless to say, this is taking a lot more work than I originally anticipated. Instead of blues and creams I’m looking at reds, whites, and greens, you know, the traditional Christmas colors. Man I wanted to do something different!

Rather than beat myself up, I figure I’ll just keep pressing on with this traditional thing and grab some baskets to make this thing as Christmasy as I can. So now tonight my 15 year old is making dinner (a baked fish dinner might I add) and I’m going to be engrossed in candle making to get these wonderful shelves stocked for the open house.

Meanwhile, I had to decline a different event happening tomorrow at an almost local elementary school. I hated to do it and I really tried to squeeze it in but it was just too difficult to do both. Alongside the matter of having already paid for the booth and needing to get my money’s worth this month, I sadly declined the elementary school. Sometimes it’s hard to face that fact that I can’t do everything.

On a brighter note, I was able to donate quite a few items to the school that I shipped off this morning. I packaged up a cherry pie candle, a pumpkin pie candle, cinnamon stick wax tarts, an apple pie candle, a buttered rum jar candle, and a couple of other freshly made items and placed them in a medium sized priority box. I was relieved to see them picked up by the postal carrier. I feel a little better now. I think a donation beats not being there, doesn’t it?

Well, that’s my day! Please, if you have a moment, please sign up for the giveaway we’re doing over on our Facebook page. It’s filled with Everything Dawn Christmas candles: cupcake candles, ornaments, and the other good smells!

To Be or Not to Be (Cold)

I am not a fan of cold weather but I’m even least pleased with this cold house I’m living in. Yes, I’m thankful for the cold house but, nevertheless, I like to be warm. I get out of bed and it’s cold, I’m walking through the house in the middle of the day and it’s cold. I’m thinking about how many more months of this cold I’m going to have to endure before I can be warm again! I mean, I want to look cute in the house but it’s too blessed cold to wear my cute stuff. So sweats it is.

The cold did inspire me to create a treasury that I so happily named “Jack Frost.” Bet you don’t know why. Of course it’s because I’m so cold! The treasury, itself, is beautiful powder blue and, by the time I finished it, I loved it so much that it’s now my new favorite. I selected things that I really love for this treasury, and there were so many that I pretty much favorited each and every one.

Being a venetian lace gal (and having contemplated what I’m going to actually buy some for since I absolutely have to have some after reading M&J’s blog post), I favorited light blue venetian lace. Then there was the gorgeous snowdrop mineral makeup that is such a beautiful color. I’m not sure it’s my color but it sure looks beautiful on the screen. The light blue glitter, the crocheted hat, Euro Shams, like I said, they’re all so beautiful! Then there was the winter snow photography that is stunning but I have to admit I intentionally picked this photo because it expressed how cold I really am. Anyway, these are gifted artisans guys.

Today my mission is (besides staying warm) to get a few new items up. I did a few gingerbread cupcakes and gingerbread ornaments that are scented in complete yum! I’ll be listing those at some point this morning. I’m also hoping to bake some pumpkin bread sometime today. I’m sure my dear family will appreciate that. Well off to a second cup of coffee and maybe some heat!
